Michigan Works! Kalamazoo and St. Joseph Counties has just released applications for the 2009/2010 Incumbent Worker Program Grant (formerly known as Employee Enhancement Program-EEP). The deadline for submission is Friday, September 25, 2009 at 4:00 pm.

These grants are available to companies in Kalamazoo or St. Joseph Counties in the manufacturing, health care, and service industries including advanced manufacturing, life sciences, technology, homeland security and/or defense, and alternative energy.

Applications must clearly articulate how the proposed training represents a layoff avoidance strategy.

A preference is given to applications that include training services delivered by M-TEC at KVCC. This grant can fund 100% of employee training costs up to $3,500 per employee and a maximum company grant of $20,000.

You are encouraged to act quickly to develop your training plan. We are ready to assist you with the application process and to provide you the training quotes necessary for your proposal.
