Criteria for Admission

Written Application: Attention to detail and the ability to follow specific directions are important.

References: Candidate supplied references will be asked to provide feedback to support the candidates job readiness skills, work ethic and suitability for a career in hospitality.

Orientation: You will be required to attend one of the orientation sessions for the Hospitality Academy. Please contact the Career Academies office to schedule a convenient time.

Interview: Interviews will be conducted by small teams including the Director of Service Career Academies and at least 2 Industry Advisors. A score card will be provided to assure uniform assessment of the applicant’s suitability for the program. Through these interviews, the interviewer looks for the same personal qualities and interpersonal skills they would seek in a prospective employee to fulfill the job requirements.

Acceptance: Applicants will be notified of their acceptance into the program by phone. 

Payment: Those accepted into the Hospitality Academy will be required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of $800.
