Energy Summit 2006
Nationwide, the economy has been struggling with the cost of energy. In Michigan, this struggle has been deeply felt with the downturn in the automotive manufacturing sector, coupled with the growing cost of energy.
U.S. Congressman Fred Upton, in partnership with several west Michigan business organizations, teamed up to sponsor the 2006 Energy Summit. This all day event, focusing on the needs of Michigan manufacturers, was held on Friday, October 20, 2006 at the Fetzer Center, Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Attendees gained an awareness of the latest tools available to industry. Case studies brought home the dollar value opportunity that exists for business and industry.
Energy Summit '06 featured traditional and alternative energy suppliers and consultants, as well as experts on creating an energy efficient business environment. Information and tools about conducting assessments of buildings, lights, windows, pumps, steam systems, HVAC, motor and more were available.
