Hospitality Academy

In partnership with the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA), the Hospitality Academy offers training in the most current industry practices and trends and allows students who successfully complete the program to earn a globally recognized certificate in hospitality.

The Hospitality Academy provides job training for the rooms division and food and beverage division of a lodging operation, including front desk, reservations, housekeeping, bell services, restaurant service, and banquet set-up and service. Guest service, professionalism, career exploration, communications, ethics, and employability skills are also addressed.

Hospitality skills are transferrable to many different occupations concerned with organizing and directing, such as restaurant managers, apartment building/rental employees, retail sales associates, customer service agents, and administrative office personnel.

Employment opportunities in hotel and lodging, catering, conference and event venues, hospitals, retail, food and beverage, resorts, and spas continue to grow. Hospitality organizations demand qualified, knowledgeable employees who are ready to excel. A career in hospitality offers excellent benefits, competitive wages, promotion opportunities, and a wealth of varied careers. In this industry managers are often promoted from the ranks of front desk clerks, housekeepers, waiters, and hotel sales workers.
